The Games [All Welcome, No Killing] Empty

A.B. Was glad to finally be home, back in his lovely land of green. The East had been nice, but his stay had been far too long. Politics did not suit him, and A.B. had felt himself getting softer by the minute while he deliberated and debated with the lords who had attended the summit in Tyner's palace. The world was growing larger, with many more persons of power emerging every day. In order to keep his throne -and the peace- A.B. would need to grow ever stronger. Of course, A.B. was always one to give others a sporting chance. In so, he had taken a short leave from his kingly duties and come to the highlands, a wonderful, green, misty land that A.B. had spent many days in since his youth.

In the highlands A.B. had constructed a multitude of varied constructs, all geared towards bringing out the hidden potential in people, most of all himself. There was an obstacle course, a muddy, winding path filled with all manner of obstructions, meant to strengthen one in all manner of physical ability. There was a range that A.B. had marked out with posts, a pile of large logs lying next to it. The fabled highlands log toss, a challenge even for those with gargantuan strength. There was an archery range, outfitted with bows A.B. had appropriated from the royal armory. Finally, there was The Pit. The Pit was a large, well, pit, almost ten feet deep and approximately thirty feet in diameter, with an even bottom. It was for duels, sparring in specific. A.B. planned to let the existence of the Games spread by word of mouth, rather than by invitation. Looking over the multiple stages, he grinned. This would be a very fun time, indeed.

The Games [All Welcome, No Killing] Empty
PostSubject: Re: The Games [All Welcome, No Killing]   The Games [All Welcome, No Killing] EmptyTue May 26, 2015 6:35 pm

Vorin heard about the games shortly after he had arrived in the North East. There was much talk of them all over the docks- they said the new king had built something up in the highlands, for some contest or other. They said that it was meant to truly challenge a person, to bring out what they're worth. Perhaps I could start there, Vorin thought. Why not challenge myself? Better than sitting on some mountaintop meditating, he figured. So, shortly after he arrived at Lake Town, Vorin packed some food and other equipment and headed off to the highlands.
Upon arriving at the Games, Vorin found that he was one of the first ones there. He could go wandering about until others arrived, he thought, so he set up camp [assuming there are no lodgings here]. Later, he went out and surveyed the land- there seemed to be an obstacle course and a pt, among other things. Vorin briefly reflected on what the pt might be for- if it was fights, he would probably stay out of it. He still couldn't do much except for use spells in a fight. He would learn, eventually, he thought. Until then, it would be best to stay away.

(Just a short post, waiting for others to show up for the games).

[just to clarify for whomever decides to join the topic: there are no formal lodgings, you'll have to either pitch a tent or rent an inn in the capital and then walk to the highlands (the lands are too high for horses :^}  ]
